Latest events in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has given rise to comparisons by Arab countries of Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip to the war crimes performed by Nazi Germany in the second world war.

Normally, I would not comment on news of this kind, mainly due to the futility of these. I am, however, unable to forego a chance to tackle human stupidity.

It is without a doubt that Israel's actions in Gaza tend to harm the citizens of Gaza. It is plausible to assume that Israel has taken and is taking discriminative actions against the Palestinian population of the Gaza strip and the West Bank. It is also probable that some Israeli soldiers perform some war crimes, whether against property or against people.

It is in my opinion that the time has arrived to apply Godwin's Law to all publications, whether online or not; it would be for the sake of all participating sides of the conflict if the media would simply drop a story as soon as someone makes a Nazi comparison. Skirmishes will not go on for long after all media interest has been lost.
